Call your utility provider and request your total kWh usage for the past 12 months.

3. Calculate Your kWh Rate and Annual Rate Increase
To calculate your kWh rate:
Find the total amount you paid for electricity over the past year.
Divide this by your total kWh consumption during the same period.
